Welcome, one and all, to the Mong Way Round website!

This site is where we will keep you up to date with the general news concerning the Mong Way Round, and its highly sexy, well-educated, talented and eligible men. Young men attempting the seemingly impossible, definitely idiotic act of driving half way round the world for charity.

A Facebook group has also been started which will keep you up to date, but most of the news, blogs etc. will be put up on this website as it is available to everyone and is also more hard work! We clearly don't like to do anything the easy way...

Why put our model-worthy faces through such strife?!

Well, after one evening that brought together the lethal combination of a couple or so beers and a world map, 4 intrepid explorers (us) scientifically threw a dart at the map (underarm, if you must know), which through hazy eyes looked like it landed near enough to Mongolia, though judging by the short, sharp woof it could have been anywhere. Thus; the idea was born.

Being sociable chaps we made the decision to join some more fellow idiots in the quest for somewhere big, hot and unpronouncable. Thus, we became part of the Mongol Rally! We would drive to Ulaan Baatar in Mongolia in the least suitable cars we can find. You can find out about the cars we have purchased on the team page, the stipulations for these cars were that the engine would have no more power than 3 mice sellotaped to a blender and would generally be considered crap. Luckily we have zero mechanical knowledge to help on our way. This coupled with our nearly legendary bad sense of direction could end us up in Cape Town. Let's hope not...

More importantly than our own crazy adventuristic tendencies, we are doing this to raise money for several important and very worthy charities. These charities are Mercy Corps, the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice and Kidney Research UK. You can find out more about them on the charities page.
